Graffiti artist and DJ, Kane One, continues to push his boundaries of aesthetics and content with a new series of small works. Through painting and collage, he focuses on house music lyrics, but more accutely house music lyrics around love and loss. Kane One blurs the line between image and sound that results in this visual mixtape.
CONTENT WARNINGS: ILLNESS, DISEASE, CANCER, DEATH
The original artworks were on display at Young Chicago Authors in February 2018. They are inspired by the artist’s late wife, Carol, who unexpectedly passed from cancer in February 2017. These are a few of the many House songs the couple danced to throughout the Chicago party scene.
